As a social Latin dancer myself, I connect with the emotion and anticipation of movement anytime I photograph dance. Starting as a child and over the years, I’ve gotten my feet wet in a variety of dance classes and a few styles such as Ballroom, Hip Hop, and Latin dances. Behind my camera today, I dance when I get the chance. Dancing alongside a beautiful family of Afro Brazilian dancers in Samba and Capoeira, including various dancers from diverse cultures has greatly inspired me to experiment the light of dance through my lens. With every click on the shutter my feet shuffle til I’m beat by the powerful expressivity and freedom of dance and movement.
